Engineering Services

…where our experience base enhances your engineering team. In these type of engagements we support our customer’s development from concept selection through design for manufacturing. Our activities as an engineering service provider include development of concept selection matrices, 3D CAD modeling, CAE (simulation and mathematical modeling), DFMEA, BOMs, Drawing packages, test plans/physical testing, and more. We’ve worked with clients around the US and globally, on multiple year engineering programs.

Systems Engineering

JKV has offered full systems engineering under one roof since it was started. This means physical equipment with sensors, and feedback motion control. We gained this expertise through developing control systems for vehicle applications including: powertrain control, engine control, thermal management system control, HVAC, and more. We save our customers time and money by helping to design the physical system and then the electrical design, sensor package, control loops, and HMIs. We can develop control systems on embedded microprocessors or PLCs.

Rapid, Engineered, Prototypes

…for companies developing new products. Our unique advantage is that we produce high quality designs, bills of materials, CAD models, and drawings in the same building where we have significant manufacturing capability. At the end of a project we deliver a well organized engineering package along with a very high quality, functional prototype. Often these first articles along with the engineering package are extremely useful to help our customers quickly bring new products to market.

Fabrication Services

…have always been a key component of what we do. We’ve fabricated everything from industrial equipment to mobile equipment (cars and trucks) to architectural installations and more.

Our Engineering and Fabrication facility has the following capabilities:

CNC Waterjet cutting on our Flow Mach IV (5’x8’ capacity) - Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Plastics, Composites, Stone, etc.
CNC machining on 2 routers (wood, plastic, composites, and aluminum)
CNC Press-Brake Sheetmetal Bending (up to 10’ length and 1/2” thickness)!
CNC Tube Bending (0.5” to 2.0” steel tubing up to schedule 40 wall thickness)
Welding (TIG, AC/DC-Pulse MIG, Stick)

Jude Hueber

Principal Engineer and Owner

Jude Hueber graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. In college he became interested in robotics, and his first job was designing remotely operated equipment for Nuclear D&D projects. A lifelong automotive enthusiast, Jude jumped at an opportunity to lead the engineering team for a start-up company that was developing new drive-train technology for heavy trucks. This started his career in automotive and ultimately led to the founding of JKV as an engineering consulting company for special automotive projects. In his free time, Jude enjoys building things for his wife's garden, being outside with his kids, and maintaining a 74 acre farm in Batavia, OH. He is a mediocre musician, rock climber, and motorcycle rider when time affords.

Ryan Kabbes

Senior Project Engineer

After 12 years with Honda R&D, Ryan joined JKV as a Senior Project Engineer. Ryan's 12 years at Honda provided him with a vast experience in the discipline of product development and "design for manufacturing" for primarily stamped steel and injection-molded Automotive plastic parts. However, since then, Ryan has made large engineering contributions during his time at JKV to entire Prototype Vehicle Chassis/Suspension/Steering/Braking systems design, amongst other stationary and fully automated structures and machines.

Shohei Shibata

Senior Engineer

Shohei Shibata graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 2006. Since then, he has spent much of his career in the automotive industry, designing and developing safety critical chassis and suspension components for major OEMs. The experience has trained him well in the technical know-how of structural design, while at the same time he is a curious learner that is always learning something new. But at the end of the day, he believes that good communication and projection management are almost always more important to a project's success than any technical knowledge. If he isn't working on a JKV project, you will probably find him working in the garden, or playing jazz drums. He is also the builder and the maintainer of this website.
